Submission Guidelines: What We're Looking For

We welcome original contributions that blend academic insight with relatable storytelling. Your submission could be:

  • Personal essays, reflective narratives, or lived experiences

  • Research explainers or psychoeducational content

  • Reviews of books, media, or mental health trends

  • Creative pieces—response art, poetry, zines—with a psychological perspective

Here’s What Makes It a Standout Submission:

  • Original & unpublished content only

  • Word count: Essays and articles between 800–3000 words (some flexibility allowed for exceptional pieces)

  • Tone: Insightful and approachable—think psychology meets conversation—clear and engaging, not academic jargon-heavy.

  • Format: Include subheadings, short paragraphs, and visuals (optional) to make your piece easy to scan.

  • Sensitive topics: If discussing trauma, grief, or mental illness, include an appropriate trigger warning.

  • Citations: If referencing research, link directly to primary sources or credible institutions—avoid quoting secondary outlets.

  • Consent & ethics: If including someone else’s experience, ensure consent or anonymity

How to Do It:

  • Email your submission to themindreviewmagazine@gmail.com/ themindreviewsubmissions@gmail.com

  • Use the subject line: Submission: [Title of Your Piece] By [Your Name]

  • Attach your article in a Word document or Google Doc link, and include:

    • A brief bio (2–3 sentences about you)

    • A headshot (optional, but encouraged for author profiles)

    • Any relevant social or professional links

What Happens Next:

  • Editorial review: expect feedback or a decision within 2-3 weeks

  • If accepted, we may edit for clarity or flow but we'll always keep your voice intact

  • Your work will be featured on our platform, with full credit (or anonymous, by your preference)
